Questions shop owners ask

Will it recommend products I don’t sell, or wrong prices?
No. The assistant can only show products from your catalog, and product cards always use the live price, sale price and stock from your latest sync. Product ids in the AI’s answer are validated against what it was given.
Which platforms does it work with?
Any website: the widget is one script tag, and the catalog can come from a CSV/JSON/XML upload, a product feed URL or the Push API. Native Magento and Shopify apps with real add-to-cart are on the roadmap.
How does pricing work?
You pay for the AI work your assistant actually does: answering shoppers and learning new or changed products. Your monthly plan fee is included usage; a typical conversation uses about €0.04. Above your included usage you pay as you go at the same rates from prepaid credits you top up in euros, and you can set a monthly spending cap or switch pay-as-you-go off.
What happens when the assistant can’t help?
It says so honestly and offers a contact form. The visitor’s message and the full transcript are emailed to your team, with reply-to set to the shopper.
Can someone abuse the widget to run up my bill?
The widget only works on your domains, every session requires a proof-of-work and a signed token, there are per-visitor and per-IP limits, spend circuit breakers pause AI answers automatically (and email you) if costs spike, and your optional spending cap is a hard ceiling.
How does AskMerra help with the GDPR?
Data is hosted in the EU, raw IP addresses are never stored, and shoppers are not identified unless you choose to identify them. The widget stores nothing on a shopper’s device until they open the chat, sets no cookies and tells shoppers they are talking to an AI, with a link to your privacy policy. Retention is configurable, shoppers’ data can be deleted on request, and our DPA is part of every subscription.
